Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced graphic designer to join our team.

Candidates must have professional experience with designing for clients and a strong ability to satisfy brand personality, appropriate messaging, and demographic requirements. This position requires an appreciation for standards and quality control.

This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to work with a small, innovative creative shop. This position involves a variety of projects and brands, interacting with several different members of our design, web and account teams, and will report to the creative director.

Responsibilities

• Take projects from concept to finish line in a variety of print and digital media

• Develop new and powerful brands based on appropriate personality, demographic, and messaging

• Work within several established brands consistently and according to brand standards

• Develop creative copywriting and effective messaging

• Effectively apply directives from clients and internal coworkers

• Exercise quality control, including: layout, accuracy, messaging, grammar, proofing, and editing

• Review others’ work for quality control and give appropriate feedback

• Self-review effectively and consistently avoid accuracy mistakes

• Manage your time to meet deadlines efficiently

• Communicate with other team members to effectively resolve issues quickly

Requirements

• Experience designing in a professional setting

• Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator CC

• Outstanding portfolio of creative and innovative work that shows a high standard of design

• Responsive website design experience

• Portfolio of work that shows a talent for attention to detail, organization, and typography

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and/or Google Docs equivalents

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

• Professional demeanor and strong problem-solving skills

• Attitude of generosity and kindness and the desire to be a team player

• A keen eye for grammar, proofreading, spell checking, etc

• Ability to work independently, efficiently, quickly, and prioritize tasks

• Ability to consistently meet deadlines and attend meetings on time

• Ability to follow instructions with care and accuracy

• Responsible with the ability to focus

• Ability to collaborate with teams and insight to know when to engage

• Understanding of the need to build clean, complete, and well-organized files

• Anticipate potential issues and problem solve, understand the global brand picture

Bonus Skills (nice to have but not required)

• Experience in Adobe XD

• Knowledge in website developing languages (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc)

• Photo editing and manipulation skills

• A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or related field

• Commercial copywriting skills

• Knowledge of WordPress or similar web editing platforms

• Experience with video editing (Premiere/After Effects)

• A degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or related field

• Familiarity with PandaDoc, Workamajig, Frontify, Buffer, Gmail, Mailchimp, or Adobe XD

• A history in multi-family housing
