About the role:

Reporting to the VP, Finance and Infrastructure, the Senior Financial Systems Analyst is a new and critical role that will oversee the re-implementation and overhaul of our financial operating system, Workamajig. This role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and disseminating meaningful information, and ensuring the system is operating at optimum efficiency to support management with decision-making and trend analysis.

The successful incumbent is an excellent communicator with a strong technical and financial background. The role involves project management, operations, change management and financial analysis to improve efficiencies, productivity and ultimately profitability for the business.


What you’ll do in the role:

  • Responsible for the successful re-implementation of our accounting and finance system, Workamajig, to optimize capabilities and implement enhanced features
  • Create supporting documentation, develop reporting templates and support management with presentations
  • Review client budgets for projects and recommend ways to improve and optimize
  • Oversee annual budget process and work with Account Management team on annual client budgets; responsible for pricing menu and approach
  • Manage and resolve issues for users as well as work collaboratively with management to plan, monitor and evolve applications
  • Understand workflow and business processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies
  • Provide technical support and training to internal users on a range of applications
  • Cross-train with Senior Financial Administrator and provide back-up support when needed (main duties would include full-cycle accounting functions)
  • Support Finance team with ad hoc accounting duties as required

You bring to the role:

  • 5 years’ experience in an accounting role ideally within an agency or non-profit environment
  • In-depth knowledge and experience using Workamajig is required
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing and managing a financial system
  • Cost accounting experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of US accounting standards and transactions would be considered an asset
  • Adept at producing high quality, accurate work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, flexible and adaptable with a high desire to learn and refine processes
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and providing solutions for issues of a moderate to complex scope
  • A self-starter able to deal with complex and confidential financial information
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
