Position Description

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is an integral contributor to the business success of our clients, and Interrupt’s success. The SPM will work with the Director of Operations, Project Managers, account leads and creative teams to support our client and identify key areas of improvement. The SPM must have both a comprehensive understanding of the Interrupt’s as well as the client’s processes -- being able to manage the entire engagement. This position’s primary accountabilities are to manage the success and project profitability for several key accounts under their responsibility, interacting with the internal team and externally with clients. The SPM will also assist with training and mentoring of Project Managers. This position may also be asked to help with overarching resource/operational responsibilities at times in supporting the Director of Operations.

Your goal is to become an invaluable partner (through your and our team’s efforts) to your internal and external clients by thoroughly understanding the building materials industry your clients’ business, and Interrupt’s processes.

Senior Project Manager Accountabilities:

  • Exercise independent judgment and appropriate discretion
  • Ability to assist with, develop and lead agency project management processes
  • Work with, collaborate with and support all agency teams
  • Train and mentor Project Managers (PM), Project Coordinators (PC), etc. on agency processes and workflows
  • Ability to help traffic/resource their client team’s projects
  • Working daily with Workamajig to open jobs, enter estimates and pull reports
  • Create, assist and present proposals to account team for clients for approval
  • Develop, edit and assist with project inputs and creative briefs for job start meetings
  • Brief agency colleagues, and work with them to plan and implement the best solutions for the client
  • Management of client projects from development to completion and wrap up, keeping projects on task, on budget and within scope
  • Create and maintain master project planning documents including; deliverables, tasks, stakeholder needs, milestones, files, risks and people
  • Provide ongoing budget reconciliations to Directors and Account Leads, CEO, Finance and Operations managers, showing progress against plan, explaining any variation from plan, and proposing any revisions to the remainder of the project to course correct
  • Estimating resources needed to achieve project goals, planning and scheduling project timelines and working with Director of Operations to facilitate
  • Ability to be client facing in status calls, client report out meetings and responding to clients' requests as they arise
  • Assisting with client billings for all accounts
  • Understand the clients’ brand, key marketing and sales strategies, and business goals
  • Lead and prioritize multiple concurrent projects involving cross-functional teams
  • Work with teams to anticipate and work around planned vacations and conflicting projects
  • Support the company’s overall mission and follow all standards, policies, procedures and confidentiality guidelines


  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to engage and build on client relationships through ongoing project management cycle
  • Experience with project management and collaborating within a team of skilled professionals
  • Technology acumen with project management software, Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must
  • Ability to manage multiple non-competing accounts and tasks with flawless delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of experience as an Account Executive or Project Management or equivalent on agency or corporate marketing role
  • Comfortable interacting with coordinators, mid-tier managers to VPs of major building material brand clients
  • Ability to work within our culture and a team environment is essential
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written (samples of proposals, creative briefs, project briefs, etc. will be requested)
  • Flexibility, multi-tasking and temperament is critical to success, must be able to handle pressure, timetables and client challenges well
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization (internal as well as with clients), fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
  • Experience with social and digital engagement strategies a plus
  • Understanding of B2B and the building materials industry is a huge plus
  • Candidate must work fulltime in Sylvania, Ohio, with regular attendance on Interrupt premises
  • Position may require prolonged sitting Travel to the client and trade shows may be required (approx.10-15% travel), ability to navigate is required
