Position:  

Traffic Manager

Schedule:

Mondays: 9am - 3pm

Tuesday: 10am-3pm

Wednesday: 10am-3pm

Thursday: 10am-3pm

Location: Tampa, FL

On-site is preferred, some remote opportunities available once all process and workflow is in place.

Position Overview:

At Swim, there are several departments that must work together efficiently in order to fulfill the requests of our clients. Every job that comes into our firm must flow through these departments on time, and it is the traffic manager’s responsibility to make sure that happens.

The traffic manager will create detailed schedules, set deadlines at each stage of the project, and will also make sure that work is distributed equally and fairly between the team, departments, and contractors. If too much work is coming into the agency, and resources are in short supply, the traffic manager can work with account management to move deadlines, or hire additional help in the form of freelancers and temporary contractors. The traffic manager will constantly monitor this process, often with the help of our trafficking system (Workamajig), and will be able to make adjustments accordingly.

To be successful in this role, this candidate will be very organized and detail-oriented. They will be expected to lead others that do not report to them and to ensure teams are meeting deadlines - all while maintaining their cool under pressure.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with team members to learn about the status of existing projects, and details about new projects coming into the agency.
  • Create a schedule for new jobs, and assign those tasks using the trafficking system (Workamajig).
  • Review current and future timelines and job statuses with the account services team, and if necessary, the individuals working on the jobs.
  • Reschedule projects based on new or changing priorities. This often happens when clients initiate rush jobs.
  • Report to management about the current workflow, and communicate any possible issues with too much, or too little, work coming into the agency.
  • Work with the Director of Operations on invoicing and possible additional costs due to rush fees or unexpected deadlines.
  • Work with freelancers and temporary contractors, getting them up to speed on jobs they will assist with.
  • Serve as quality control between the account services team and the creative team to ensure that deliverables match client expectations - based on the provided creative brief and copy edits.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or similar field is prefered.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar high-speed, high-impact role.
  • Impeccable communication skills
  • Proven track record of effectively handling projects that require a high level of detail
  • Effective, versatile and action-oriented
  • Excellent ability to have direct conversations regarding accountability and deadlines
